Resumen
Los rankings universitarios globales se han convertido en un referente de calidad del sistema de educación superior, constituyéndose en un factor relevante en la determinación de políticas y estrategias institucionales. Son construcciones metodológicas que reúnen diferentes criterios con los cuales se busca hacer homogénea la comparación entre instituciones y acorde a las ponderaciones que el ranking considere, categoriza unos resultados de medición y ordena las posiciones de las universidades.
Se muestran los indicadores fundamentales utilizados en cada ranking, así como los elementos fundamentales de la gestión y resultados de las universidades cubanas en los 3 principales rankings internacionales que tienen indicadores más ajustados a la realidad latinoamericana, el SCImago Institutions Rankings, el Ranking Web de Universidades, el Ranking Transparente y el Ranking QS y de la estrategia desarrollada en la Universidad Tecnológica de La Habana, José Antonio Echeverría, Cujae.
Se analizan también los resultados de las universidades cubanas en sitios para la difusión e intercambio científico muy utilizados en el mundo como el Google Académico y el Researchgate y su interrelación con los rankings anteriores.
Abstract
Global university rankings have become a benchmark for the quality of the higher education system, becoming a relevant factor in determining institutional policies and strategies. They are methodological constructions that meet different criteria with which it is sought to make the comparison between institutions homogeneous and according to the weightings that the ranking considers, categorizes some measurement results and orders the positions of the universities.
The fundamental indicators used in each ranking are shown, as well as the fundamental elements of the management and results of Cuban universities in the 3 main international rankings that have indicators more adjusted to the Latin American reality, the SCImago Institutions Rankings, the Web Ranking of Universities, the Transparent Ranking and the QS Ranking and the strategy developed at the Technological University of Havana, José Antonio Echeverría, Cujae.
The results of Cuban universities are also analyzed in places for the dissemination and scientific exchange widely used in the world such as the Academic Google and the Researchgate and their interrelation with the previous rankings.
