Entre los problemas profesionales a resolver por el ingeniero geólogo en Cuba, se encuentra la identificación y protección del patrimonio geológico, por ello se requiere profundizar en la preparación de estos profesionales en aras de prepararlos para este fin. Este trabajo apunta hacia la necesidad de fortalecer su preparación, en relación a los
conocimientos, habilidades y valores para identificar y proteger el patrimonio geológico
del país. Se abordaron diferentes momentos en relación con la formación que se desarrolla en la carrera Ingeniería Geológica en Cuba y su vínculo con el patrimonio geológico. Desde esta perspectiva se resaltó la necesidad de preparar a estos profesionales para que puedan identificar los recursos naturales geológicos con valor
patrimonial. Se emplearon métodos teóricos como el análisis, la síntesis y el hermenéutico. Se concluye que la formación de estos profesionales debe favorecer su
preparación para identificar los recursos naturales geológicos con valor patrimonial, en
aras de garantizar su identificación y protección, para este propósito se propone una metodología, contentiva de etapas y acciones para su implementación, en correspondencia con los objetivos del modelo del profesional de la carrera.
Among the professional problems to be solved by the geological engineer in Cuba, is the identification and protection of the geological heritage, for this reason it is necessary to deepen the preparation of these professionals in order to prepare them for this purpose. This work points to the need to strengthen their preparation, in relation to knowledge, skills and values to identify and protect the geological heritage of the country. Different moments were addressed in relation to the training that is developed in the Geological
Engineering career in Cuba and its link with the geological heritage. From this perspective, the need to prepare these professionals so that they can identify natural geological resources with heritage value was highlighted. Theoretical methods such as analysis, synthesis and hermeneutics were used. It is concluded that the training of these professionals should favor their preparation to identify natural geological resources with heritage value, in order to guarantee their identification and protection, for this purpose a methodology is proposed, containing stages and actions for its implementation, in correspondence with the objectives of the career professional model.
