La asignatura Historia de Cuba se estudia en todas las carreras de la Educación Superior, a la par se le debe dar salida a la Historia Local y ampliar el bagaje cultural del futuro egresado. Con el objetivo de profundizar en el estudio de algunos contenidos a partir de debilidades constatadas por la experiencia pedagógica en los estudiantes del Centro Universitario de Bejucal, se ha elaborado un “Material docente” que podrá ser utilizado, como lo han hecho las autoras, por otros docentes para impartir sus clases y por los estudiantes en la realización de tareas extraclases, guías o simplemente para profundizar y ampliar sus conocimientos. Los materiales que se ofrecen abordan, de manera sencilla y amena, temas relacionados con la formación de la identidad, la figura de Félix Varela, el quehacer poco conocido, del Grupo Minorista, la figura de Mario García Menocal, vista desde un enfoque positivista, la situación que vivió Cuba a raíz del golpe de Estado del 10 de marzo de 1952, la fundación del primer señorío en Cuba, la llegada a la Isla del ferrocarril y su primer tramo, la historia de las charangas bejucaleñas, una de las tres tradiciones más antiguas del país y la historia del béisbol en el municipio. Como se aprecia el material podrá ser de utilidad para las carreras que se estudian en el territorio y en otros centros universitarios contribuyendo al logro de una educación con calidad.
The History of Cuba subject is studied in all Higher Education careers, at the same time it must be given an outlet for Local History and expand the cultural wandering of the future graduate. With the aim of deepening the study of some contents based on weaknesses verified by the pedagogical experience in the students of the University Center of Bejucal, a "Teaching material" has been prepared that can be used, as the authors have done, by other teachers to teach their classes and by students in carrying out extra-class tasks, guides or simply to deepen and broaden their knowledge. The materials offered address, in a simple and entertaining way, issues related to the formation of identity, the figure of Félix Varela, the little-known task of the Retail Group, the figure of Mario García Menocal, seen from a positivist approach, the situation that Cuba experienced as a result of the coup d'état of March 10, 1952, the foundation of the first manor in Cuba, the arrival on the island of the railway and its first stretch, the history of the Bejucal an brass bands, one of the three traditions oldest in the country and the history of baseball in the municipality. As can be seen, the material may be useful for the careers that are studied in the territory and in other university centers, contributing to the achievement of a quality education.
