Resumen

Pensar en las perspectivas de la educación superior, inmersos en una situación de pandemia, implica inevitablemente recurrir a la trinchera del humanismo considerando que, antes de la transmisión de conocimientos y el desarrollo de habilidades técnicas, la universidad debe ser un espacio de encuentro, donde florezcan las habilidades blandas, las fortalezas del carácter y las competencias para la vida.
Las y los profesores estamos llamados a mantener una postura autocrítica, una mentalidad de crecimiento y una visión flexible sobre nuestra labor y sobre los alcances del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje que, lejos de ser una cátedra unidireccional, debe representar un diálogo constante y constructivo con nuestros estudiantes.
Para ello es necesario fortalecer la visión que como docentes tenemos sobre nosotros mismos y nuestras potencialidades, en la denominada “nueva normalidad”, mirando con esperanza y optimismo el modelo de trabajo actual, para ser un referente efectivo que inspire con el ejemplo y que acompañe el proceso de descubrimiento y confirmación vocacional de la siguiente generación de líderes y tomadores de decisiones.
Con esa visión del docente, es posible construir y gestionar un ambiente de aprendizaje efectivo si se desarrollan los siguientes tres elementos: claridad de expectativas, comunicación franca, estructura eficiente de trabajo y la atención constante a las necesidades socioemocionales de nuestros estudiantes.
Compartiremos algunas buenas prácticas sobre los cuatro elementos citados, que han florecido sin importar la modalidad de trabajo, a manera de enriquecer la “caja de herramientas” de quienes participen en esta charla.

Abstract

Thinking about the prospects of higher education, immersed in a pandemic situation, inevitably implies a glance of humanism. Before the transmission of knowledge and the development of technical skills, the college must offer a safe environment, where soft skills, character strengths, and life competencies can flourish.

Teachers are called to maintain a self-critical posture, a growth mindset and a flexible vision about our work and about the scope of the teaching-learning process that, far from being a one-way speech, should represent a constant and constructive dialogue with our students.

For this, it is necessary to strengthen the vision that as teachers we have about ourselves and our capabilities, in the so-called "new normal", looking with hope and optimism at the current work model, to be an effective reference that inspires with example and that accompanies the process of vocation discovery and confirmation of the next generation of leaders and decision makers.

With that vision of the teacher, it is possible to build and manage an effective learning environment if the following three elements are developed: clarity of expectations, open communication, efficient work structure and constant attention to the socio-emotional needs of our students.

We will share some good practices on the four elements mentioned above, which have flourished regardless of the work modality, in order to enrich the “toolbox” of those who participate in this talk.
