En el presente estudio se muestra la situación social y el comportamiento energético
actual de una comunidad rural montañosa del municipio de Guama conocida como La
Magdalena. El objetivo general de la intervención es mejorar la calidad de vida de sus
habitantes a través del acceso a fuentes de energía sostenibles y el desarrollo social y
económico. El estudio mostro los principales problemas que limitan el desarrollo
sostenible de la comunidad La Magdalena consistente en: limitaciones en el acceso a la
energía, a productos alimenticios, materiales y recursos para la producción de
alimentos, a la creación de fuentes de empleo, el deterioro del fondo habitacional, el
déficit de red de acueducto y déficit de comunicación telefónica, a servicios de salud, al
transporte, a servicios básicos como la educación continua, servicios y ofertas
culturales afectando a más del 35% de la población. El informe hizo énfasis en la
importancia del cambio de matriz energética como base para impulsar el desarrollo
local sostenible de la comunidad.
