sociedad.

The articulation of Dentistry with the society is not causal or accidental, it has left
developing in the measure that its exercise has produced the satisfaction of lacks that
historically has been introduced by the practice, from the uncertainty of its perspectives
empiric initials it begins to grow in the scientific thing and the technological thing until
our days. In this work the social paper of Dentistry was characterized, through two
epigraphs: Panoramic of the social studies in relation to Dentistry, and the second was
the historical evolution of the Orthodontics.
The oral health is guided in the individual's conception like an all indivisible one whose
organism behaves as a unitary system that doesn't admit partial welfares. It is hence
that when interpreting the process health-illness, it should be carried out on the base of
the integration of biological, psychological and social aspects that it intervenes.
The orthodontics was founded with the belief that this area of the interest was a true
specialty, but at the beginning it was a mechanic, from then on it is as different as other
sections of Dentistry, to be about improving the illness. The specialty demands one high
level of knowledge in the growth and the development, biomechanics, and mechanical
dexterity. Dentistry like science of the health is an activity biosocial. To know the history
of the orthodontics is to obtain a reference mark to understand the human teething in
the health and the illness throughout the time. The evolution of the specialty goes
harnessed to the evolution of the society,
