Resumen
El Centro Universitario Municipal de Artemisa (CUM), la Coordinación Municipal del
Proyecto Agrofrutales, el Consejo de Administración Municipal y el Centro Provincial de
Materia Orgánica y Autoconsumo, en investigación realizada ratificó que en el colectivo
laboral, existe la necesidad de potenciar la producción de humus de lombriz (fertilizante
orgánico) que demanda la cadena de Agrofrutales en el centro, a la vez que se considera
relevante atender a la presencia de brecha presencial de género mientras que en la
comunidad existen mujeres sin empleo y que tienen interés en integrarse al colectivo.
Para dar respuesta a esta necesidad se formula un proyecto afirmativo de la igualdad,
teniendo además el apoyo del equipo nacional de Agrofrutales y del PNUD.
El objetivo del proyecto es incrementar la producción de humus de lombriz y contribuir al
empoderamiento de las mujeres con la generación de cambios de gestión a favor de la
igualdad de género en el colectivo y la creación de la primera brigada de mujeres en la
lombricultura del municipio y la provincia de Artemisa.
Las doce mujeres de la brigada se vincularon laboralmente en el Centro de lombricultura,
donde reciben ingresos económicos y reconocimiento social; se capacitaron en temas de
género, en producción y aplicación del humus de lombriz, en el uso de las tecnologías,
autonomía, liderazgo, y medio ambiente; se incrementa su empoderamiento individual y
como grupo; aumenta su autoestima y mejoramiento de sus relaciones de género a nivel
de colectivo laboral, la familia y la comunidad.
Abstract
The Municipal University Center of Artemisa (MUC), the Municipal Coordination of the
Agro-fruits Project, the Municipal Administration Council and the Provincial Center for
Organic Materia and Self-supply, in an investigation carried out, confirmed that in the work
collective, there is a need to promote the production of earthworm- humus (organic
fertilizer) demanded by the Agrofruits company in the center, while it is considered
relevant to address the presence of the gender gap while in the community there are
unemployed women who are interested in joining the group . To respond to this need, an
affirmative project of equality is formulated, also having the support of the national team
of Agrofruits and UNDP.
The objective of the project is to increase the production of earthworm humus and
contribute to the empowerment of women with the generation of management changes in
favor of gender equality in the work collective and the creation of the first women's brigade
in the municipality's worm farming and the province of Artemisa.
The twelve women of the brigade were linked to the work at the worm farming Center,
where they receive economic income and social recognition; they were trained in gender
issues, in production and application of earthworm humus, in the use of technologies,
autonomy, leadership, and environment protection; their individual and group
empowerment is increased; increases their self-esteem and improvement of their gender
relations at the level of the work group, the family and the community.
